LSG vs MI Highlights, IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants beat Mumbai Indians by 5 runs

Mumbai Indians chased down 200-plus targets for fun at the Wankhede, and they were on the course to do the same tonight after the kind of start Kishan and Rohit got them off too. However, the Giants didn't lose hope against the five-time IPL champions. LSG is most likely to make it to the playoffs after this win. But you never know in the IPL! If Mumbai Indians win their next game, and Punjab Kings/Royal Challengers win their remaining two games, and LSG lose against KKR, they can still miss out on a chance to book a berth in the playoffs. Plenty of permutations and combinations going into the final week of the league stage. We'll make sure to bring all the action. For now, it's a goodbye from our side! See you tomorrow!

Marcus Stoinis, Player of the Match: Great moment. He hasn't played here for a long time, a big moment for Mohsin, especially bowling the final over after being injured. It was very close, there are a lot of things not going your way. A couple of good overs from the spinners and Mohsin sealed it for us. We have shown that we are a real team, there are no real superstars, and different people are stepping up and performing for us. We are missing KL (Rahul), but we have KP (Krunal) leading us, and Andy (Flower) has a really good cricket brain.

Krunal Pandya: I was having cramps, I pulled a muscle. I have always been a team player, anything for the team, so happy with the result. Mohsin has a big heart. He had surgery and playing IPL after such a thing, then the sky is the limit. It has not been easy for us, really happy to end on a good note here. Good to give them a win in this last game at this venue.

Mohsin Khan: The plan was to execute what I did in practice and I executed. Even Krunal was talking to me and I told him the same. The run-up is the same, did not change it in the last over. I was trying to calm myself down, not look at the scoreboard and bowl the 6 balls well. Since the wicket was gripping, I tried the slower ball, but I bowled two of those and then changed to the yorker and it was reversing as well. Been a tough time as I was injured, playing after a year. My father got discharged from the ICU yesterday and he was in the hospital for the last 10 days I did it for him, he would have been watching. I'm grateful to the team and the support staff, Gautam [Gambhir] sir, and Vijay [Dahiya] sir for playing me in this game even though I did not do well last game.

Rohit Sharma: We didn't play well enough to win the game. There were little moments in the game that we didn't win, unfortunately. We assessed the pitch really well and it was a good pitch to bat on that score was definitely changeable and we lost our way in the second half of the innings. We gave too many runs at the back end and the last three overs went for a few. But the way we started with the bat we were in a good position to chase, but like I said we lost our way in the second half. He (Stoinis) played really well and kept hitting straight which is what you need to do on a pitch like this. It was a brilliant knock from him. Not sure how the calculation (about the points and NRR) will work, but we need to come out and play some good cricket in our last game (against SRH).
